Spruce Street Harbor Park Celebrates National Hammock Day
Heads up, hammock hogs: Tomorrow, anyone who visits the Hayneedle Hammock Lounge at Spruce Street Harbor Park (SSHP) will be (almost) guaranteed at least a half-hour of pure hammock bliss. To celebrate National Hammock Day—on Wednesday, July 22nd from 4-8 p.m.—a team of friendly hammock police will rotate visitors through the lounge to ensure that you don’t spend too much time awkwardly searching for an open spot to recline.
There will also be new hammocks installed throughout the seasonal village, and there will be hammock giveaways for guests who wish to take the ultimate lounging experience home. By sharing a favorite hammock selfie on social media, guests are automatically entered to win their very own cocoon. Just be sure to tag each photo with @hayneedle, #hayneedle, and #SSHP.
DJ Patty Pat will set the mood with his relaxing “musical hammocks” sounds, and there will be food by SSHP staples Graces Group, Federal Donuts and Franklin Fountain. Yards Brewing Company will provide craft beers, and soda will be offered for those under 21.
This event is presented by Univest/Valley Green Bank. Admission is free, so come take advantage of these warm summer evenings by relaxing under the technicolor lights at Spruce Street Harbor.
