This week The Voice judges narrowed their teams to the final 12, and Marlton’s Christina Grimmie (Team Adam Levine) made the cut. The Star Ledger recaps her performance:

Marlton native Christina Grimmie led the way on Monday night’s “The Voice” Playoffs Round, giving arguably the strongest vocal of the night as teams Adam Levine and Shakira were cut from five singers apiece to just three.

In the two-hour showcase, Adam’s group well outshined Shakira’s delivering three knockout performances from a trio of singers who each could go deep into next week’s live rounds. …

Christina [who sang Jason Mraz’s “I Won’t Give Up”] has the perfect voice for studio recording. And, apparently, live performances. This was sensational coming from the pint-sized powerhouse. Every word was sung crisply, her head voice was elegant and her higher register slayed over and over. “How do you do that?” Blake asked. “Everything you do up there … unbelievable,” Adam said.
