Power 99’s Powerhouse @ Wells Fargo Center | Friday, October 28
Trey Songz, Wiz Khalifa and Philly’s own Meek Mill headline Power 99 FM’s blockbuster hip-hop and R&B concert.
Moe @ Fillmore Philadelphia | October 28-29
Jam band Moe (they write it “moe.”), which formed at the University of Buffalo way back in 1989, play two shows at the Fillmore. Since anything happening this weekend is Halloween-themed, the venue has some rules regarding costumes: “All props must be made out of plastic, rubber or foam with no sharp edges. No metal or wooden objects. Prop guns must have orange tips and can’t have the ability to fire any objects whatsoever, including caps.”
Red 40 and the Last Groovement @ FringeArts | Saturday, October 29
The Philly-based funk/disco/R&B/performance art group led by the talented Martha Stuckey is throwing an album release party at FringeArts for the band’s debut, She’s Keen to Feed. This video is NSFW-ish:
The B-52s @ Fillmore Philadelphia | Sunday, October 30
Ben-FM brings us The B-52s Halloween Scream. Come early because Marilyn Russell is hosting a Rock of the ’80s pre-party and a costume contest (more costume rules here) with DJ Robert Drake. Look how good I was: I didn’t make a single Love Shack or Roam pun.
