LISTEN: Will Smith Drops First Song in Over a Decade
Verifying long-running speculation that Will Smith would be getting back in to music, the Philly-bred rapper/actor has dropped his first song in over a decade. Well, it’s kind of his song.
He’s teamed up with Colombian electronic music trio Bomba Estéreo on a remix of their song “Fiesta,” in which he raps in English and Spanish. I’ve read that Smith heard the original track on a trip to Colombia this year, and reached out to the group to see if he could collaborate with them. And thus, “Fiesta (Remix)” was born.
“When I was told that Will Smith wanted to collaborate on a remix with Bomba, I couldn’t believe it,” said band founder Simón Mejía in a statement. “This opportunity to work with Will was beyond anything we have dreamed of … It’s just magic.”
