Date Set for Annual GLOW in the Park

Fairmount Park Conservancy (FPC)’s annual, much-loved GLOW in the Park festival has been scheduled for Thursday October 22nd. The evening event—now in its fourth year—sees the lighting-up of the historic Smith Memorial Arch, which was built on the grounds of the 1876 Centennial Exposition.

Besides the glow that gives the event its name, the evening is one big ol’ party. Entertainment scheduled for the night includes an aerialist, glow-in-the-dark hula hooping and live music. Food and drink will be made available thanks to a lineup of food trucks, and local distiller WhistlePig will be there with a promised whiskey-based cocktail and all the fixin’s you’ll need to make s’mores.

The cost is $75 per ticket, which includes food, an open bar, and a $35-level membership to FPC. If you want to go, you should buy now: Tickets at the door are $100 each. More information and ticket links can be found here.

For those of you who really want to plan ahead, FPC has also released the dates for its Christmas in Fairmount Park activities, taking place between December 3rd and 20th. Activities include candlelight tours, holiday-themed open houses and a variety of festivals. More info on the FPC website.
