PHOTOS: A Gay Ol’ Time Was Had at Jazz Age on the Delaware
On Saturday, locals slipped into flapper garb and made their way to Glen Foerd Mansion, where there was a 20s-inspired bash held on the lawn of what claims to be the last Gilded Age mansion on the Delaware River. The day’s activities centered around a picnic on the grounds of the home, with jazz performances by The Gin Canaries and Drew Nugent & The Midnight Society, and food and drink from Jamie Hollander Gourmet Foods and Catering, Art in the Age and Hendrick’s.
Here’s a collection of mostly action shots from the day–folks doing the Charleston, bands playing jazzy tunes and scenes from the grounds, where guests spread blankets for a picnic and a game of backgammon. You might want to flip through the photos while listening to this.
