High school kids love Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off.” A little over a week ago a school in Cinnaminson shared with the world a video they made to the catchy tune, and today the Internet’s all abuzz with footage from a graduation at Portsmouth High School in New Hampshire, in which the graduating class of 230-plus erupt into one big “Shake It Off” flash mob.
The idea started came from Valedictorian Colin Yost, who told MTV News that he had always wanted to do a flash mob. “I thought graduation would be the perfect place because our class is very cohesive and doesn’t really have a lot of cliques. … I was listening to ‘Shake It Off’ in the car and I thought that would be great for a flash mob, so I talked to a few of my friends about making it happen.”
He says he put together an instructional video that he shared with the senior class so everyone could practice. When they had it down, they ran through it a couple times over the course of five graduation rehearsals. See how it turned out in the video above.
