Queen Latifah Cancels Bill Cosby Appearance After Hannibal Buress Rape Comment

UPDATE: The Queen Latifah Show reps claim Bill Cosby’s cancelled appearance is a postponement granted at Cosby’s request.

ORIGINAL: Philadelphia native Bill Cosby was scheduled to be on an upcoming episode of Queen Latifah’s talk show to promote his new book, but, as TMZ reports, the host pulled the plug after Cosby’s sexual assault allegations resurfaced last week after a Hannibal Buress comedy show here in Philadelphia.

As we reported, Hannibal Buress did an extended bit about Cosby that went something like this:

“It’s even worse because Bill Cosby has the fuckin’ smuggest old black man persona that I hate,” Buress said. “He gets on TV, ‘Pull your pants up black people, I was on TV in the 80s! I can talk down to you because I had a successful sitcom!’ Yeah, but you rape women, Bill Cosby, so turn the crazy down a couple notches.”

We should note that Cosby has not ever been criminally charged with rape (the legal definition of which varies by jurisdiction). Check out a recording of the set below.
