DO THIS: Awesome Fest Hosts Horror Film Festival Sleepover in the Woods
This weekend Awesome Fest is taking over Adventureland Day Camp in the woods of Bensalem for its second annual Summer Camp Sleepover.
Organizers have set up the affair to be just like summer camp—except now you’re grown up. There will be campfires, food trucks, horror-themed vendors, marshmallow roasts, games, and, because no camp would be complete without ghost stories to scare you shitless, Awesome Fest will screen seven horror movies throughout the night.
“I thought it would be crowd-pleasing to add a little more comedic horror into the mix this year, and we didn’t have any trouble tracking down some new good flicks that fit the bill,” says Film Programmer Scott Weinberg.
The film lineup comprises Pumpkinhead (1988), Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead (2014), Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part IV (1986), Extraterrestrial (2014), Wolfcop (2014), Suburban Gothic (2014), and Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers (1988).
The event takes place Friday, September 12th. Gates open at 4 p.m. You have to be 21 to enter, and campers are encouraged to BYOB and BYOT (bring your own tent). Tickets, which are $35, can be purchased here.
