Final Season of Boardwalk Empire to Jump Ahead Seven Years

Period drama Boardwalk Empire will begin its final season a full seven years after its fourth left off. According to Michael K. Williams (pictured), who plays Chalky White on the show, next fall will see Nucky Thompson and company tackling the Great Depression, the end of Prohibition, and other events more relevant to 1931 than 1924. Oh, and Chalky will have a beard. It’s a big move for Boardwalk, but one that might jump-start a show that’s always had trouble attracting as much buzz as its network-mates.
