HughE Dillon: Zarwin Baum Celebrity Casino Night

Fox 29's Mike Jerrick, Eagle Jon Dorenbos and more roll the dice to support Easter Seals.

Last night the law firm of Zarwin Baum DeVito Kaplan Schaer Toddy P.C. hosted an evening of glamour, glitz and games at the first-ever Zarwin Baum Celebrity Casino Night, which took place at their offices. The event benefited the Easter Seals of Southeastern Pennsylvania. Fox 29’s Good Day Philly traffic reporter Kacie McDonnell went all in at the craps table. “Players” would take their winnings to the bank and trade their winnings for raffle tickets that would then be dropped in bags for a chance at winning top prizes.

Nearly 350 people came out to support the event, raising nearly $15,000 for Easter Seals according to Stacey Kracher, Zarwin Baum’s director of marketing, here with FOX 29 morning anchor Mike Jerrick, 610 WIP personality and former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Mike Quick, and Mitchell S. Kaplan, managing shareholder of Zarwin Baum.

There were a lot of fun people at the event, many I don’t normally see out on the social scene, including former Philadelphia Eagle Darwin Walker, here with Ted M. Schaer, transportation/maritime malpractice at Zarwin Baum.

I also ran into the newly married and still-glowing Kate Wilhelm Chimicles, from Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, with husband Chris Chimicles, principal at Heffler Claims Administration, and Bill Firth, Zarwin Baum. Kate told me about the inaugural PHS “PHeaSt” on Friday, October 19th. At the event, guests will sample a “grazing menu” of farm-to-table dishes created by chefs from the area’s finest restaurants and growers from amazing local gardens. Proceeds go to the innovative PHS City Harvest program.

Dorenbos tells me he’s feeling much better after that hit from behind in last week’s game against the Cardinals. He said he was glad to come out to support the Easter Seals, which is a wonderful organization that changes lives.
