HughE Dillon: Kendra Wilkinson Steps Out to Victorino’s Fashion Show
On Monday, Shane Victorino held a celebrity fashion show at the Union League. Attending was former Playboy Playmate and reality TV star Kendra Wilkinson (left, escorted by Officer Mark Strange), and Cole and Heidi Hamels, Pete and Nancy Mackanin, Kyle Kendrick and Stephenie LaGrossa, Ben Francisco and Cindy Lopez, and a few more. The funds raised went to the Shane Victorino Foundation, a nonprofit organization that promotes opportunities for underprivileged youth in Hawaii and Philadelphia.
And as I wrote in Monday’s column, Friday the 13th was not an unlucky day for me as I hit about four events starting at noon at the Philadelphia Free Library for a book signing with Academy Award-winning actress Emma Thompson, who was promoting her new movie, children’s favorite Nanny McPhee Returns, which opens this Friday. I finished after midnight at the Boys of Summer party at Voyeur Nightclub, sponsored by Steve McCann’s PhillyGayCalendar.
OUT AND ABOUT
Oprah Winfrey and Stedman Graham stayed in Cape May last week to attend the funeral of Stedman’s mother in Whitesboro, NJ, where Stedman grew up.
Congratulations to … me! A program that I participated in last year has been nominated for a local Emmy Award. Megan Smith, Joseph Matthews, Nicole Machalik, and I participated in a 10-week boot camp/exercise program at Fusion Fitness to get healthier. NBC 10’s Justin Pizzi did the reporting, with photographer Brad Berner doing the filming. I won by losing 27 pounds. (I can’t say I’ve been as disciplined in keeping it off, but I have the tools now to make it work.)
