Here is a look at the Eagles-Panthers injury report heading into Monday night’s game:
Here’s what we saw from the Eagles’ offense in Sunday’s 30-17 loss to the Falcons after having reviewed the coach’s tape.
There are some veteran leaders on the Eagles that are about at their wits’ end. The identity that used to come with an Andy Reid-led team has been compromised, and hubris may have something to do with it.
“I just get so tired of the ‘talented’ talk. I don’t want what the outside world views as talent to infect our team,” said Jason Avant. “Talent and potential is dangerous because you’ll get complacent. We have to go out and show it. Right now we’re a 3-3 team. That’s who we are. It’s not that we’re a talented 3-3 team. It’s that we’re 3-3 and they have players on their team, whatever team we’re facing, that are just as good as we are. If we take that mindset that anybody can beat you, you’ll focus and concentrate harder and you’ll play better.”
Here’s what I saw from the Eagles’ offense after reviewing the All-22 footage from this week.
Before we get started, some overall themes. Number one, the coaches have to take a hit for the game-plan, which was built around the following ideas:
* That DeSean Jackson could get behind the Cardinals’ secondary for big plays.
* That an offensive line with two new guys (Dallas Reynolds and Demetress Bell) would be able to protect Michael Vick well enough to give him time to find receivers way downfield.
* That Vick would hit on the big plays when they were available.
Obviously, not all of those things happened, and hopefully below, you can see why.

As we mentioned earlier, Jeremy Maclin did not practice today.
Meanwhile, safety Kurt Coleman (facial lacerations), wide receiver Riley Cooper (fractured collarbone) and cornerback Curtis Marsh (hamstring) were limited. Andy Reid has already ruled Cooper out for Sunday’s game against the Ravens. Coleman was in the locker room before practice and sounded like he fully expected to play.
Earlier, I posted the game review of the Eagles offensive line.

Reaction in the Eagles locker room was almost identical from player to player when the question about replacement referees came up. There would be a telling smile followed by an involuntary groan, both indicating a nerve was struck. Michael Vick literally let out an, “Ahhh!” before conjuring up a politically correct response.
Jason Avant went through the same process, waited a beat, and chose to let his real feelings seep through the crack.
“This league is all about — our commissioner is all about — player safety,” said Avant. “And with the deal not being done, there’s a definite compromise, kind of an oxymoron so to speak, when it comes to player safety with the refs not being there. A lot of guys are kind of concerned about it. That’s a big deal for us as far as player safety.”
