Pike & Rose Part of White Sector Plan to Revitalize Rockville

Group Of Female Friends Enjoying Meal At Outdoor Restaurant

A new neighborhood minutes from the nation’s capital is under construction in the heart of Montgomery County, Maryland.  Its name is Pike & Rose, and it’s the first major project of the revitalization mapped out in the White Flint Sector Plan.

The goal of the plan is to convert several areas in the county like the Mid-Pike Plaza and the 45.3 acre site of the White Flint Mall into a large mixed-use development that will include a grid of apartment housing, office spaces, restaurants, and street-level shops.

The Pike & Rose development will be pedestrian and eco-friendly with easy accessibility in and out of Washington, DC, transforming Rockville to an attractive destination for tourists, visitors, and city-dwellers looking for an escape.

Here are some of the Pike & Rose plans currently underway or in the works:

  • There will be an influx of numerous new restaurants and bars like Tanzy, an artisanal approach to Italian cuisine, Salt bar, Del Friscos, a modern bar & grill of American comfort classics, and Protein Bar, a healthy and flavorful dining experience – all set to launch in fall 2014, making the development a great dining spot outside of DC.
  • There will also be an 8-screen iPic Theater, the first on the East Coast.  The iPic Theater will include high-end options like wine, freshly cooked meals, all-reserved seating, and even pillows and blankets.
  • A new 250-person music venue called AMP from the people at Strathmore is set to launch in early 2015.
  • The Pike Central Farm Market is already open every Saturday from 9am to 2pm from now through November.
