One Way to Help Improve Your Employees’ Health Insurance? Ensure It’s Actually Accessible
Nowadays, health care plans can come equipped with a variety of perks, upgrades and features. But regardless of which type of health plan you offer your employees— whether it’s PPO, HMO or POS — none of them reach their full potential unless the plan information is conveniently accessible to the employees. That’s why UnitedHealthcare developed the Health4Me® app, which is designed to simplify and streamline access to health care resources in a secure and convenient way.
The app from UnitedHealthcare — available on both Apple® and Android® devices — is offered as part of the benefit plan and allows plan members to access their health information anywhere, anytime. All of the information that was formerly accessible on paper, via phone call or on the Internet, is now readily stored within the app.
One of the handiest features is that necessary documentation can be pulled up with a few taps of the app. Employees can find both their and their family’s health plan ID cards, which can then be e-mailed or faxed directly to the doctor’s office or hospital. All of the information stored in Health4Me is kept confidential. That way, plan members don’t need to worry about carrying four or five different health plan ID cards in their wallets.
Employees can also search for network physicians or facilities near them using the GPS location search feature. The professionals included in this feature are in-network, allowing members to easily find the necessary physician. Likewise, once members find favorite physicians and facilities, they can categorize them under the “favorites” tab, which allows them and their family to quickly find their contact information without toggling through a directory or poring over a website. If plan members need assistance, the app can connect them with a helpful professional through Easy Connect or put them in touch with a nurse 24 hours a day, seven days a week via NurseLineSM.
It’s always important for employees to be able to successfully navigate their health care plan. Employees can manage their family’s prescriptions and keep their health costs organized by accessing information on deductible and out-of-pocket spending status, and checking account balances for health reimbursement, flexible spending, and health savings account. At any point, they’ll have access to a log of all of their health care-related expenses and account statuses.
As employers, it’s important to offer your employees a platform designed to make managing health care a lot simpler.
