Longwood Documentary “Flowing Water” Goes Behind the Scenes of The Main Fountain Garden
Longwood Gardens’ flowers, forests, meadows and fountains have always been in a league of their own when it comes to beauty. And it’s thanks to the vision of Pierre du Pont that those heavenly gardens came to life just outside of Philly.
That’s why July 13-15, Longwood Gardens is paying special tribute to its founding father with a 111th anniversary celebration. Founder’s Weekend kicks off with the premiere of Flowing Water, a documentary that follows du Pont’s inspirational trips to the great gardens of Europe as well as the unique behind-the-scenes footage of the Main Fountain Garden revitalization.
Follow du Pont’s incredible journey from inspiration to culmination in the film and catch informative talks from the filmmaker, revitalization team and staff throughout Founder’s Weekend. Concessions and activities for all ages will celebrate the film and magical place that came to be because of Pierre du Pont’s vision. Plus, each evening ends with a spectacular sendoff: a special illuminated show at the newly revitalized Main Fountain Garden.
If you can’t be there for the film’s premiere in person, tune into 6abc on Saturday, July 15 at 7:00 p.m.
