Around Town: New Blooms & Bamboo at Longwood Gardens

Longwood Gardens has a new twist on fall. Experience Blooms & Bamboo: Chrysanthemum & Ikebana Sogetsu Artistry.

Spiraling bamboo art forms and a jaw-dropping bamboo tunnel—exclusively designed for Longwood by Iemoto Akane Teshigahara, the world’s pre-eminent master of Ikebana Sogetsu—set the stage for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Teshigahara and her team journeyed from Japan to create the towering installations. In addition, 23 arrangements showcasing the beauty of Sogetsu Ikebana (the traditional art of Japanese floral arranging) are on display. The display is made even more extraordinary by thousands of blooming chrysanthemums meticulously trained into imaginative shapes by Longwood’s own horticulture masters.
