A Philly Designer Is on the Newest Season of Project Runway, and We’re Excited
Set a reminder, program your DVRs; Project Runway season 15 is right around the corner. Adding a little Philadelphia spice to the competition is Mah-Jing Wong (pronounced “Mun-Gene-Wong”), Philly-native and 2011 Art Institute of Philadelphia grad. The Philly designer describes his designs as very “denim-focused” with lots of Asian influences. Also featured this season is San Franciscan Alex Snyder, who lived in Philly for 3 years before heading out west (it totally counts).
The newest season kicks off September 15th at 9 p.m. on Lifetime. Guest judges for the season include actresses Priyanka Chopra, Emily Ratajkowski, Nina Dobrev, Camilla Belle, Jaime King, Shiri Appleby, Sabrina Carpenter, and Carly Chaikin as well as Today anchor Savannah Guthrie, fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff, Project Runway Junior judge Kelly Osbourne, model Lucky Blue Smith, and Marie Claire editor-in-chief Anne Fulenwider, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Philly-based contestants have done pretty well on the show before. Moore College of Art and Design grad Dom Streater won Project Runway in 2013 and Project Runway All Stars this past June — talk about representing.
In the meantime, check out Wong’s home visit on Lifetime to get an exclusive look at some of his past collections and his adorable family.
