We Found the Coolest Line of Baby Clothes in Philly
North West wears Balmain. Blue Ivy wears Dior. Toddlers have Instagram pages documenting their style. We’re looking at a whole new baby style game, and it’s getting dicey out there.
The baby-clothes landscape has changed a lot since we waddled around in onesies. It’s gotten progressively trendy with each decade (it’s come to this) and more and more extravagant (this little one has a mini Céline bag). Though I don’t recommend swaddling your kid in Chanel — or hot pink zebra stripes — there are plenty of great shops and designers, both online and local, that bridge the gaps between too-prim and too-trendy, and between ultra-cheap and crazy expensive.
To wit: Sweet Luka Mo, a Philly-based line of baby clothing that is helping style-starved parents find appropriately modern gear for their wee ones.
Sweet Luka Mo is the brainchild of Einav Keet and her partner, a local couple who couldn’t find cool clothing for their infant son Luka. They produce their line almost entirely in Philly, and use organic cotton and bamboo fabrics.
The unisex pieces — rompers, leggings, tees, tanks and thermals — are available in sizes from 3-24 months, as well as 2T, 4T and 6. They’re all just cool enough (splatter paint onesies, tiny little harem leggings) without veering into tacky territory.
You can get the collection online, or score select pieces at Art Star in NoLibs (the only local brick-and-mortar to carry the line). Time to rock the playground.
