South Philly Boutiques Home and Occasionette Combining Stores
This is the perfect retail storm if we ever saw one. Former neighbors, South Philly boutiques Home and Occasionette are joining forces and combining spaces at 1825 East Passyunk Avenue. But not so quick, the stores are still remaining separate. Occasionette owner Sara Villari explains, “We’re not getting married, we’re just living together. We’re basically roommates.”
And it makes sense. Occasionette’s gift boutique has some serious square footage that had previously been used for workshops and shipments. And while the shops will remain distinguishable, the pair is working to create a seamless amalgamation by shifting the cash counter back and removing any partitions. Shoppers can expect the the shift to be complete mid-March.
What to expect: events, workshops and a host of creative projects from the two shops. Villari says the duo had already been hosting informal cocktail nights on Friday and scuttling between the two shops, so they’re excited to put the events on the books. Plus, she disclosed plans for an upcoming two-year anniversary shindig and grand opening event, so check back for updates.
