Century 21, Nordstrom Rack and Timberland: All Of This Week’s Store Openings
Welcome to what we here at Shoppist HQ have begun calling Opening Week. We’ve got three long-awaited stores opening huge locations in Center City, and all are worth checking out ASAP. Mark your calendars and start making your shopping lists—here’s what Philly welcomes this week.
What: Century 21
When: Thursday
Where: 801 Market Street
How good is it? Amazing. (Keep an eye out for our sneak peek tomorrow!) I’m talking 100,000 square feet of discount designer clothes (up to 65 percent off retail), shoes and accessories. It’s taking over the first and second floors of the Strawbridge building.
What: Timberland
When: Friday
Where: 1709 Walnut Street
How good is it? Surprisingly great. They’ve moved on from those ubiquitous work boots, and the 5,800-square-foot flagship store stocks more sophisticated merch for men and women.
What: Nordstrom Rack
When: Friday
Where: 1700 Chestnut Street
How good is it? Really good. The store is four levels and 39,000 square feet, and will stock men’s and women’s clearance merch, all discounted from 30 to 70 percent off regular retail price.
