Just Listed: Renovated Trinity in Washington Square West
Like most Wash West trinities, it’s on one of those prized “little streets.” And also like most of them, it’s kept up with the times beautifully.

This classic trinity dates to the 1870s, but a recent renovation has made it as good as new. It sits on a quiet little street in Wash West, at 218 S. Jessup St., Philadelphia, PA 19107 | Bright MLS images via Compass
When it comes to trinities, Bella Vista and Washington Square West duke it out for the title of Trinity Central. Unfortunately, no one keeps stats on the exact number of trinities in each neighborhood, so I can’t answer definitively which neighborhood has more of them.
But there are some characteristics that distinguish the two neighborhoods’ trinities. Many of Bella Vista’s are located on pedestrian-only alleys that give their settings a European feel. And more of them are covered in stucco, which makes them look a little less elegant than their Wash West counterparts.
Most trinities in Wash West, on the other hand, still have their original brick exteriors. And they sit on the “little streets” — the interstitial streets that are just wide enough for a car to drive down them. And because these streets are a little wider, many of them are tree-lined, like the block of South Jessup Street where you will find this Washington Square West renovated trinity house for sale.
And indeed this trinity checks off all the boxes for a Wash West classic. It takes the form of a traditional trinity with a kitchen ell at the rear.

Living room
The living room has a powder-blue accent wall, a beamed ceiling and a brick gas fireplace.

Kitchen
The galley kitchen in back also got updated not too long ago. It has plenty of cabinet space and up-to-date appliances.

Rear patio
And in back of the kitchen you’ll find a fenced-in stone patio for outdoor relaxation and entertaining.

Bedroom/home office
The second-floor bedroom also has a working fireplace. It currently serves as a home office.

Bathroom
Also on the second floor is the bathroom, which got a subway-tile tub-shower surround as part of the renovation.

Primary bedroom
The primary bedroom on the top floor has ample closet space and a door that leads to this:

Right now, it’s just the roof below. It’s all ready for you to add a balcony or deck.
This Washington Square West renovated trinity house for sale is also conveniently situated on a “little street” that guarantees peace and quiet because it doesn’t run through. Two other little streets, however, do connect it to the next one to the west, and at its end, a pedestrian path leads to 11th Street, where you will find a mix of offices, neighborhood services and places to eat. Even more of these can be found on the blocks around you. The house is just west of Jefferson Alumni Hall, smack in the heart of the Gayborhood and a block and a half from the Forrest Theatre.
All this makes this trinity not only a Wash West classic but also a real find. Take that, Bella Vista.
