On the Market: Modern Mediterranean House in Margate
This handsome house in a bayside community is a total vision in white - so white, you'll have to wear shades inside.
If you’ve been looking for a house for sale that truly expresses the incredible whiteness of being at the Jersey Shore, run, don’t walk, to the Interlude development on Margate’s bayside and check out this contemporary beauty with a faint whiff of the Tuscan hovering around it.
But before you venture inside, be sure to buy or bring along a pair of sunglasses lest you be blinded by the light.
From the moment you step into its two-story foyer to the moment you walk out through the sliding glass doors to its backyard, you will be awash in 1000 watts of white, amplified by the sunlight streaming through its windows and doors.
Just looking at the pictures here may have you reaching for your shades. If the light gets too intense, just stare down at the blond wood floors in the sunken living room, kitchen and dining room, or the tan ones in the first-floor hallway, and you should be able to adjust.
Its open dining room, breakfast nook and kitchen make entertaining on both a large and a small scale easy.
This house for sale was built in 1988 and has been very well maintained by its owners since then. You could continue the tradition of maintaining it or update it to reflect more modern tastes. Should you choose the latter course of action, please give some consideration to the cabinetry and appliances you will install in the kitchen. To honor the spirit of this house, stainless steel is not recommended.
On the outside, it’s not quite as blinding thanks to its cream-colored exterior stucco. The trees that ring it also add color as well as shade.
Interlude is a very attractive community, and this modern villa contributes to its attractiveness. Also attractive is its location next to the Margate Boulevard causeway, which connects you to the mainland.
If all this sounds like a bright idea, you know what to do.
