Just Listed: Efficient Studio Condo on Rittenhouse Square
Need a little room you can call your own? Want a place to crash when you're in the city? This furnished condo overlooking the square should fill the bill handsomely.
Last year, we told you about Alon Seltzer, a millennial Main Liner who fell in love with city living. Seltzer’s specialty is remaking small spaces so they function more efficiently.
His projects aimed squarely at people like himself — those who use the city as their living room and their homes mainly as places to sleep. And he got so good at creating efficient small apartments that Zillow took notice.
Since then, Seltzer’s also gotten into the business of selling places to live, large and small. One of his small wonders is now on the market.
This high-floor studio in the Rittenhouse Savoy has all the elements you need to live comfortably: a living/bedroom, a compact galley kitchen, and a bathroom with laundry.
The kitchen has all the basic tools a cook might want except an oven. It does, however, have a dishwasher, which is more important if you’re mainly eating and drinking by yourself or with one other person. Your Instant Pot can take place of the oven for many of your oven-cooking needs. (Want baked goods? There are several fine pastry shops within walking distance.)
The alcove leading to the bathroom contains a wardrobe where you can store your clothes. It also can accommodate a dresser.
The bathroom and laundry share the same room, accessed through a frosted-glass sliding door. To make more storage space, the laundry features a combination washer-dryer.
As for amenities, well, the Rittenhouse Savoy has a very nice sun deck with panoramic views and a fitness center. But the greatest amenity of them all is Rittenhouse Square itself. Philly’s outdoor living room is a great place to relax, meet friends, and watch the passing scene. Plus it’s ringed with great places to eat, drink and shop, with many more on the streets around it.
At this price, this little gem is a steal. And when you consider that the condo fee includes all your utilities and basic cable, and that this place comes furnished, it’s still a bargain.
