City House of the Week: Airy Corner Unit at the White Building
In addition to being situated in one of Philadelphia’s premier neighborhoods, the White Building on South 12th Street, a structure dating back to 1867, is actually credited for having set off the Gayborhood’s revitalization (or Midtown Village, depending who you ask).
As we’ve previously noted, Goldman Properties’ revamping the building has now placed it in a very sweet spot: directly behind the East Market project, which is anticipated to bring a whole lot of change to the Market Street’s east corridor.
Understandably, this isn’t the first time we’ve been been wooed by a condo at the White Building and it’s unlikely to be the last. This particular unit, no. 405 to be exact, is in the way of offering a substantial square footage: a total of 1,694. Comprised within that space? Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an open layout living and dining space with a contemporary kitchen.
Throughout the spacious residence – a corner unit we might add – are barrel-vaulted ceilings and hardwood flooring, and the contemporary kitchen comes with a pantry and appliances by Miele, Wolfe, and Sub-Zero. The master bedroom offers a walk-in closet and its tiled bathroom includes a large soaking tub. In tandem with all of this, the building provides its tenants with a fitness center, concierge desk, and pre-paid parking at a nearby lot.
