Farmhouse Friday: Lane’s End Farm Gets Second Price Cut
Once again on the Property circuit, Lane’s End Farm has been spotted with a second price cut. Not for lacking of anything to say, but we decided to dig around a bit to see if there was anything we had missed in the previous times we’ve covered it, and get this: it’s minutes from the historic William Penn Inn, where Penn would stay when visiting Quaker friends in the area. (The building recently celebrated its 300th anniversary!) Moreover, despite its private and seemingly rural surroundings, the property is actually just a short drive from the North Wales business district.
It does certainly preserve its secluded vibe though. Situated within 234 acres of nature preserve, the 18.57 acre property has a long, tree-lined drive putting the road and the residence a good distance from each other. Various buildings make up the property, including a renovated manor house, stone barn, two cottages, and multiple garages. The first of these has had a mudroom and laundry added, while its kitchen has been updated with radiant heated floors, marble center island, and commercial Wolf range with double ovens and custom hood. A morning room with fireplace adjoins the kitchen.
Other preserved details in the home are its original doors and hardware, random-width floors, deep window sills, and several fireplaces. The home office beamed ceiling is also an older feature. On one of the upper floors (there’s a third and fourth level) is a master bedroom that comes with its own fireplace, an updated bathroom with a claw foot tub, double shower, and double vanity, as well as an adjoining closet and dressing area.
