It was chaos this morning and afternoon after two buildings collapsed at 22nd and Market. There were dozens of bystanders, throngs of reporters, first responders and subsequent teams of police and firefighters who simply stood on top of what used to be a building and removed the rubble, brick by brick. Through it all strode Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers, and later, Mayor Michael Nutter, who gave a press conference that was broadcast on CNN. Here are some photos from the long day.
