About

The Baldwin School provides a robust and expansive learning experience for girls. The School focuses on how
girls learn best and what girls need to thrive. From Pre-K through Grade 12, the School creates confident and
resilient learners who take pride in their work, challenge themselves to learn more and develop a curiosity about the world around them.

What is your teaching or educational philosophy?

Girls at The Baldwin School will experience the thrill of scientific discovery, the joy of reading, the triumph of overcoming challenges and the satisfaction of seeing their creations performed and displayed around the School.

Baldwin’s world-class faculty cultivate an environment that supports girls in their learning process,
challenging them to tap into their interests, take risks and collaborate with others. Students are provided
unique opportunities to learn beyond the classroom through programs and partnerships with the broader
community. Faculty bring their expertise into the curriculum through a range of elective courses and co-
curricular opportunities.

In the Lower School (Pre-K through Grade 5), self-contained classes provide a strong foundation for learning
skills in reading, writing, math and social studies. The breadth of content in co-curricular classes that incorporate technology, art, music, science, world languages and swimming instills creativity and skills in the minds of our youngest girls.

Middle School (Grades 6 through 8) expands on this solid foundation by adding more in-depth exposure
to science, math, technology, literary studies, foreign languages, history and cultural anthropology. The
increased emphasis on organizing material and information enhances students’ time management skills, confidence and independence.

The Upper School (Grades 9 through 12) offers a more individualized curriculum designed with a strong core of
courses across the disciplines through blended learning and curated challenges. It produces well-rounded girls prepared for academic achievement at leading colleges and
universities around the world.

What is your mission statement?

The Baldwin School, an independent college preparatory school, develops talented girls into confident young women with vision, global understanding and the competency to make significant and enduring contributions to the world. The School nurtures our students’ passion for intellectual rigor in academics, creativity in the arts and competition in athletics, forming women capable of leading their generation while living balanced lives.
