If you’re like us, you’ve been spending more than a little bit of your time Googling socially distanced mini-moons, staycations, date ideas and safe (but exciting!) ways to break up the pandemic doldrums. (Remember that floating tiki bar you can rent? Or that couple’s package at the Four Seasons Spa? We thought so.) Now, there’s another experience to add to your list — a four-day culinary-inspired package at Beach Plum Farm in Cape May ideal for newlyweds, duos seeking a romantic spring getaway (perhaps for popping the question?!) and small groups.

Dubbed the Renewed retreat, the program is available to book Monday to Thursday between April 5th and May 7th and includes a stay in one of the property’s five private cottages (they sleep two to eight guests). The visit is paired with a lineup of activities that let you experience life on the 62-acre seaside working farm. You can unwind and take it easy and get your hands dirty, too.

There’s a different themed itinerary for each day. On Monday, for example, you’ll attend a mixology sesh and cocktail reception led by Canyon Shayer with Bluecoat Distillery. There’s a herb- and crop-planting excursion with seasonal mint, lemon verbena or thyme. A DIY charcuterie board class may find you arranging selections of jams and locally sourced cheeses. And on the final night, executive chef Wes Thompson will dish out a springtime farm-to-table dinner in the Hoop House, where you’ll dine on a menu filled with hand-harvested produce and pasture-raised meats. (Take note: It’s BYOB.)

While you’ll be participating in the activities with your fellow retreat guests, each couple or individual group will be socially distanced. At the dinner, for example, you will be seated with your party only. And if something on the itinerary doesn’t strike your fancy — say you don’t want to try your hand at archery — you are welcome to substitute a hike, self-guided farm tour, bike ride (the farm offers complimentary ones) or other experience. (More structured alternatives can be arranged with the team.)

Among the other perks: For an extra fee, the team will stock your fridge with staples like eggs, sausage, granola, almond milk and vegetables. While on property, shop the market for goods to cook in your cottage, though the Farm Kitchen offers prepared breakfast and lunch. Or add a visit to the nearby Congress Hall’s spa for a treatment or two.

Interested in reserving your spot? Rates begin at $2,250 for two guests. You can find more information on the website and you can book your stay by calling 833.327.6268.
