How To Propose on the Jumbotron at a Philly Sports Game

Some believe that proposing to your significant other should be a private, romantic moment. (Check out all of our fun Proposal Month coverage here.)  Others feel that sharing the moment with lots of people around —say, at your favorite gigantic Philadelphia sports stadium — enhances the magic and excitement. For those ready to pop the question who happen to have an intense and unbridled passion for Philadelphia sports (I mean, we get it, we REALLY love the Eagles) then proposing on the Jumbotron might actually be a dream come true. 

We do advise that before you make it this public, you are pretty certain that your better half will say yes. (You don’t wouldn’t a repeat of this botched proposal at UCLA.) Then, read on to find out how all of our favorite local Philly sports venues can assist you in popping the question. 

Citizens Bank Park

What better way to propose then while enjoying some soft serve and a beef frank? This Philly couple agrees! And the Phillies are here to help. An engagement package during a Phillies baseball game will cost you $450. That may sound like a hefty bill, but here are all the perks you get: live, in-game coverage of your proposal on PhanaVision, four of the best tickets available to the game, a champagne toast, and a DVD copy of the event. At Citizens Bank Park, other fans actually get to watch you propose via the scoreboard, instead of just a message appearing on the Jumbotron. Lincoln Financial Field

You’ll definitely feel the energy and excitement from the crowd if you propose at an Eagles football game. As the reigning Super Bowl Champions, the Eagles have some of the most dedicated fans in the NFL. There’s no payment to have your message go up, but instead, a $25 donation is made to the Eagles Charitable Foundation. Like most other stadiums, the message will go up at halftime on the scoreboard (but keep in mind no PA system announcement will be made.) There are a limited number of messages available for each game, so get your request in ASAP! The deadline to request a message is 11:59 PM on the Thursday prior to the game. Wells Fargo Center

3601 South Broad Street, South Philly.

As any good Philadelphian knows, both the Flyers and the 76ers play in this famous Philly arena. What you may not know is that the Center is actually home to four total sports teams: the Philadelphia Soul and the Philadelphia Wings also play here. Guests at any event have the option to propose on the big screen. Check out how to do it at all four teams’ events below. 

Philadelphia Flyers

If you’re interested in proposing during a Flyers ice hockey game, their engagement package includes a visit by the “Fun Patrol” to surprise your future fiancé(e), a deluxe Flyers prize bag which includes specialty Flyers Bride and Groom t-shirts, two autographed photos from a current player, a puck saying “Will you marry me?”,  a Flyers pillow, two drink koozies, noisemakers, and other Flyers goodies. Your soon to be fiancé(e) will also receive a bouquet of flowers and of course, a scoreboard greeting during the game. All this will cost you $250. If you play your cards right, you might even get a surprise visit from Gritty! Philadelphia 76ers

For Sixers fans, proposing during their current *fire* season is a great idea (And you might get Kendall Jenner as a witness). Keep in mind that only a message on the Jumbotron will appear, so there will not be a PA system announcement. To have the special message appear on the Jumbotron, it’ll cost you $50. Your message will go live during halftime. Make sure to put in your request at least 48 hours notice prior to the game that you want to propose at. The cutoff for weekend games is 3:00 pm the Friday before the game. (But you might even be able to finesse your way into a proposal on the court during the halftime show dunk contest, like this couple did.) Philadelphia Wings

The returning Philadelphia Wings lacrosse team made their way back to the Wells Fargo Center in 2017 from Connecticut, where they left to go play in 2014. Since their return, the NLL team has gained a large fan base and strong social media presence. For you lax fans, if you want to propose during a Wings game, it’s encouraged that a group ticket package is purchased so that your friends and family can share the experience. Philadelphia Soul

The face of Philadelphia sports changed in 2003 thanks to co-founders Jon Bon Jovi and Craig A. Spencer. The arena football team, Philadelphia Soul, is now a team cherished by many Philadelphians. To propose to your significant other during a Soul game, there are two options: a basic or ultimate package. For $50, the basic package includes two lower level seats for the game, a proposal on the Jumbotron with a congratulatory message, and a copy of the video after the game. For the ultimate proposal, $250 will get you two VIP seats for the game, participation in on-field promotion, and a proposal on the Jumbotron with a congratulations message, plus congratulation with flowers, and a copy of the video after the game.
