This Stylish Couple Recreated Their Dream Lazy Sunday For Their Engagement Shoot

Let Luke and Ettie be your reminder that Delancey Street engagement photos are *always* a good idea.

After seeing Luke Kim’s extremely thoughtful scrabble tile proposal to longtime girlfriend Ettie Kim, we had a suspicion the rest of their wedding planning process was going to be just as beautifully curated. Today we’re sharing the couple’s stylish Philly engagement photos, which take them through three of their favorite places in the city: One Shot Coffee, Penn Treaty Park, and Delancey Street. Captured by Du Soleil Photographie, the e-session reads like a perfectly-spent Sunday in Philly, which is exactly why we love it. (Especially the Delancey Street engagement photos.) Read on for more from Ettie on why they chose each location.

Instead of traveling to a destination that is beautiful and exotic but we have little connection to, we wanted to stay in Philly and take photos at spots that we frequent often as a couple on weekends. We chose One Shot Coffee because we love coffee, but also because it’s our favorite spot to hole up and get work done together on a busy weekend. We love that there is roomy upstairs seating and that we don’t have to leave the coffee shop if we get hungry because they serve food.

We discovered Penn Treaty Park pretty recently, but we prefer it over Race Street Pier or Spruce Street Harbor because it’s much less busy on weekends. We love that we can sit right by the water and, thanks to the overgrown foliage, get an unobstructed view of Ben Franklin bridge!

We chose Delancey Street as our final spot not because we could ever afford to live there (Ha!), but because Luke lives by Rittenhouse and a lot of our friends live in Grad Hospital, so we hang out around that area often. This residential part of Philly is so beautiful, and we love taking strolls there together. Neither of us are runners or particularly active, so this is our preferred form of exercise.

Luke and Ettie will wed next spring at FAME at Maken Studios in Kensington. As a stationery designer and calligrapher, Ettie will be creating the save-the-dates, invitations, and day-of signage herself.
