When you’re talking about traditional bridal wear, obviously the white dress comes first and foremost. But a close second place when it comes to the ensemble that will officially make you a bride would definitely be the veil.

As much as we love a really gorgeous mantilla or blusher, though, we’ve seen more and more brides throw tradition to the wind and forgo a classic veil in favor of a statement-making headpiece (if you’re still a veil kinda girl, we have plenty of inspiration right here) such as a headband, comb, clips or pins.

Bridal hair accessories run the gamut from simple floral crowns to glamorous, shiny hair combs—there really is a headpiece to fit every bride’s style. For dramatic updos that turn heads on their own, a delicate tiara or headband is a pretty accent without taking the look over the top. On the other hand, a large, draped crystal headpiece (like the one below!) would perfectly suit a plainer hairstyle that allows the accessory to shine.
