Bride-to-be Blogger Leslie: A Healthy Living Bride

As many of you know, my upcoming wedding is less than nine months away — so that, to me, means it is time to get down to business!

I am a healthy, all-things-in-moderation kind of girl. I recently have developed a love for distance running and am currently training for my first marathon in a few weeks. That being said, like any other bride-to-be, I have big plans to look my best on my Big Day. And I not only want to look my best on my wedding day — I want to feel my best, too, and I won’t settle for anything less.

This week, I wanted to share a few little quick tips I am using to help me be a healthy bride-to-be. These are little changes or improvements that I think are easy to make, that I believe can make a big difference. Under nine months is still a long ways away from the Big Day, but the sooner I make the small changes, the less I will have to worry about as the wedding date comes closer.

H20 is My Friend This is something I try to do on a daily basis, but I want to make sure I am more conscious of drinking more water during the months leading up to my wedding. Drinking lots of water is so important for healthy skin, as well as cleansing the body of toxins — I want to glow on my Big Day!

Work Up A Sweat I really want to be sure to continue my exercise routine as the winter months come about. It is difficult for me to go to the gym when I don’t have something to train for, but since I definitely don’t want to be scrambling to get in shape when the spring is coming, I’m going to be sure to keep exercising as the weather gets colder. I really believe that doing something, no matter how small, is 100-percent better than doing nothing!

Beauty Sleep Matters With my current work and school schedule, sleep can be a luxury I can’t afford on some days. I really want to make a better effort to get to bed earlier whenever possible and get my beauty sleep.

Eat Your Fruits & Vegetables I am a huge fan of fruits and veggies, and as the wedding day comes closer, I want to increase my servings and rely less on sugar and caffeine. This could be difficult for me because I am currently living on Starbuck’s Pumpkin Spice Lattes — not to mention I am a bit of a candy freak — but I know these things affect my mood and how I feel, and I want to feel fabulous! Trying to weed some of these things out of my diet now will be easier as the wedding date approaches.

These are just a few things I am trying to keep myself healthy with the goal of feeling my absolute best on my wedding day.

What are some of your healthy living tips for brides-to-be? What have you seen or tried that has really made a difference?
