We’ve covered pop-up bars and haunted houses. We’ve covered kid-friendly events and trick-or-treating. And now, the pups. Whether you’re a devoted dog parent or just someone who appreciates the sheer joy of costumed canines, you won’t want to miss out on the doggie festivities planned for Halloween in Philly this season. So, without further ado, let’s unleash (sorry, not sorry) the cuteness.

Hound-O-Ween Fall Festival

Philly’s biggest Halloween dog costume contest is in Northern Liberties, and it’s back and shutting down the 700 block of North 2nd Street to accommodate all the cuteness! Dozens of furry contestants will compete for prizes in various categories, plus try to win best of show for a grand prize of $500, cash. That’s a lot of biscuits. In addition to the costume contest, expect food and drink, music, and general Halloween festiveness. All proceeds from the $30 registration fee (or $20 for an extra pup) benefit Street Tails Animal Rescue.
Free to attend, $30 to enter the contest; October 19th, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., 700 block of 2nd Street.

Evil Genius’s Tricks & Treats Doggo Costume Contest

Walk your dressed-up dogs down “the cat walk” in the beer garden to win prizes and help support dog-rescue charities. Your ticket includes your costume contest entry fee and donation; food and drink are pay-as-you-go.
$10; October 19th, noon-5 p.m., 1727 North Front Street.

Palmer Doggie Depot’s Howl-o-ween

This event invites the pups to strut their stuff in a Palmer Doggie Depot’s costume contest. (The event is free to attend, but the 3 p.m. contest requires a paid ticket.) There will also be treats, vendors and games.
Free to attend; October 19th,  noon-5 p.m., 37 East Palmer Street.

Salty Paws’ Costume Paw-ty and Parade

Pets are invited to the city’s fluffiest parlor for a night of spooky fun. There will be free treats, a parade around Rittenhouse Square, professional photos, and a costume contest. (Prizes will be awarded for best human-pet combo and scariest pup.) Can’t make the paw-ty but want to join in the paw-rade? It kicks off at 6:30 p.m.
Free; October 25th, 5-8 p.m., Salty Paws, 211 South 17th Street.

Get BOOzy & Be Scary at The Boozy Mutt

The Brewerytown dog bar is hosting its first-ever Halloween party. They’re having a costume contest — with prizes for both dogs and humans — as well as dog treat decorating and a photobooth ($25 per dog). Note: All dogs must be registered with and have an active membership or day pass.
Free; October 26th, 2-5 p.m., The Boozy Mutt, 2639 Poplar Street.

Bark-or-Treat Trail

Dogs are invited to dress in costume, follow a trail of treats, and enjoy music, photo ops, and fun in Franklin Square.
Free; October 27th, noon-2 p.m., Franklin Square, 200 North 6th Street.

Hotel Monaco’s Pup-kin Pawty

In partnership with Morris Animal Refuge, Hotel Monaco will be hosting a Halloween costume contest for dogs and their humans. The prize? A one-night staycation at the very dog-friendly hotel! Plus, a treat bar by Doggie Style Pets, and pet caricatures. Don’t have a pup? Morris Animal Refuge will bring adoptable dogs to the event, too!
$5 (donation to Morris Animal Refuge); October 29th, 4-6 p.m., Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia, 433 Chestnut Street.

Bark Social’s HalloWeek

Obviously, Philly’s “social club for dogs” is going to have some spooky fun planned. From a dog-friendly drag brunch to an all-out Halloween party complete with free pup cups and a screening of Hocus Pocus, they’ve got an entire week of events planned. Click here for the schedule. Note: Dogs must be registered with current vaccine records and have a Bark Social Club membership or a monthly or day pass.
October 26th-31st, Bark Social Manyunk, 3720 Main Street.
