Philly Mag Unveils New All-In-One Subscription Offering
The magazine’s “all-access” subscription will cost $4.99 per month
Philadelphia magazine announced today that it will launch a new all-access subscription this week.
The offering, which rolls out on Thursday, July 30th, will cost $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year. Subscribers will have access to all of the articles on the magazine’s web site (including stories published on Foobooz and Be Well Philly), monthly issues of Philadelphia magazine in print, and a special subscribers-only newsletter.
Beginning Thursday, visitors to the web site will be able to read five stories per month for free before being asked to subscribe. Current subscribers to the magazine’s print edition will receive free access to online stories.
“We have a long tradition of producing award-winning, high-quality journalism both in print and online, and we think it’s important that we attach value to that,” said Tom McGrath, Philadelphia’s editor. “Our goal is to deepen our relationship with the most loyal members of our audience.”
Philly Mag joins numerous other magazine brands in offering digital or all-access subscriptions, including New York, The Atlantic, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker and others. In Philadelphia, the Inquirer and Philadelphia Business Journal are among those charging for digital and print content.
