One could look at these photos of Philly’s mostly empty streets shared by photojournalists and Instagrammers as something from an apocalyptic nightmare. But we’re choosing to see hope in these images, because the fewer people out and about in the city right now, the better chances we have of slowing the spike of coronavirus cases in Philadelphia. From the deserted streets to the vacant public parks, this is what it looks like when Philadelphians band together over a common goal — while staying far apart.
