Meek Mill Will Make His SNL Debut Next Saturday

He'll appear alongside host and Glass star James McAvoy — which makes us think we're bound to get a Philly mention.

Meek Mill’s big year just got even bigger.

In November, we told you that the Philly rapper penned an op-ed in the New York Times, in which he teased his forthcoming social justice reform foundation. In the same week, he dropped his newest album, Championships (his first since he was released from prison in April), and announced a tour to at least 15 cities, including Philly.

On Monday, Mill shared the news that he’ll make his debut appearance on Saturday Night Live later this month. The rapper is scheduled to appear on the show alongside host James McAvoy on January 26th.

It feels like we’re bound to get a Philly mention here: McAvoy stars in M. Night Shyamalan’s Split sequel, Glass, which was filmed in Philly and hits the big screen on Friday.

Mill will, of course, perform as a musical guest on the show.

Want to see Mill in person? The rapper is set for back-to-back performances on March 15th and 16th at the Met in Fishtown. Tickets are available here.

Mill was one of more than a dozen influencers to attend Philadelphia magazine’s annual ThinkFest event back in November. You can watch his full panel with Sixers co-owner/billionaire businessman Michael Rubin (who’s pushing for criminal justice reform alongside Mill) right here.
