Free Toll Friday is back for its fifth-straight Memorial Day Weekend thanks to the good folks over at Chickie’s and Pete’s.

Between 5 and 6 p.m. on Friday, Shore-going motorists can expect to breeze through the Egg Harbor exit on the Atlantic City Expressway (traffic permitting) without paying a dime – courtesy of the Crabfries King himself. The program is intended to pay homage to the military and reward patrons for all of their support over the past year.

“We absolutely love Free Toll Friday,” said Pete Ciarrocchi, founder and CEO of Chickie’s & Pete’s. “Paying for the tolls for Expressway travelers on the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend is an annual tradition that puts everyone in a good mood as we get summer started.”

On top of free tolls, Pete is throwing a party filled with family fun at the Frank Farley Travel Plaza that will include Crabries giveaways, free Herr’s chips, and an appearance from the Philadelphia Soul cheerleaders from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

More than 285,000 cars are expected to travel along the Expressway over the weekend, and officials are predicting a record turnout at the tolls. A full-length trip down the highway costs $3.75.
