Inside M. Night Shyamalan’s Exclusive Halloween Party
It should be no surprise that the guy who made The Sixth Sense throws a good Halloween party. M. Night Shyamalan and his wife Bhavna held their third Shyamaween on Saturday night at The Fillmore.
VIP guests converged on the Fillmore’s new Punch Line comedy club at 8 p.m. Thankfully, Joe Conklin wasn’t there yukking it up for the crowd. Instead, there were circus performers. There was a DJ. There were chefs like Marc Vetri and Jose Garces, who was completely unrecognizable dressed as an auto mechanic. Guests partook liberally from the very open bar, where the Veuve and Dom flowed freely, and M. Night and Bhavna mingled.
Once WMMR talent Preston Elliot managed to get the rowdy crowd to quiet down (most of the Preston & Steve cast was there), Bhavna made a speech about the M. Night Shyamalan Foundation — the party was a fundraiser for that organization — but she wasn’t on a microphone, and it was tough to hear what she said.
Then things moved from the comedy club to The Foundry, a bigger dance club space at the Fillmore. More free booze, more Garces food, more circus acts, and lots of promiscuous dancing and related antics.
Guests paid $1.300 for VIP tickets, and $250 for the Foundry portion of the party. A spokeswoman says Shyamaween raised about $200,000 for the foundation.
