Philly Police Shootings and Stops: Inside the Numbers
This summer, police stops resulting in the deaths of two black men—one in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; one outside of St. Paul, Minnesota—fueled protests across the country over the ways police interact with people of color. As Black Lives Matter and other criminal-justice reform groups continue to force the issue in national news, we look at how the Philadelphia Police Department (PPD) stacks up in key metrics that have become flash points of the ongoing debate.
