Boston Marathon Dad Mike Rossi Arrested at Kenny Chesney Concert
If you had asked us a month ago if we thought that we’d ever write about Mike Rossi again, we’d probably have said, “Who?” After all, it’s been well over a year since the Abington dad was accused of cheating to get into the Boston Marathon, an allegation that he denied. But now Rossi finds himself in trouble after an incident in Philadelphia on Saturday.
According to the Philadelphia Police Department, Rossi was at Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday for the Kenny Chesney concert. (Yes, the same Kenny Chesney concert where the country giant got himself into trouble for wrongly reporting the death of a Folcroft police officer to the tens of thousands of fans in the audience.)
Before the concert began, Rossi was in Lot K at the Linc, an area popular with tailgaters. It is unclear exactly why, but around 5 p.m., stadium staff asked Rossi to leave the lot area several times, according to the police. Law enforcement officials say that Rossi refused.
The Philadelphia Police Department was called in and again asked Rossi to move several times and, again, he refused, according to police. He was arrested and cited for criminal trespass, a summary offense punishable by up to $300 in fines and as many as 90 days in jail. Rossi is due in court on July 7th.
Rossi, who is 49, works as an on-air personality for country music station WXTU, according to his LinkedIn page. Back in the 1980s, he was a host of the popular TV show Dancin’ on Air. Rossi did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
