Pa. Turnpike Shut Down in Bucks County
A truck fire early this morning has slowed traffic to a halt on the Bucks County section of the Pennsylvania Turnpike. While no injuries were reported, the incident has triggered a hazmat situation requiring extensive cleanup. All eastbound lanes between Bensalem and Delaware Valley are closed, and drivers are being detoured around the cleanup site.
Motorists must exit the turnpike at the Delaware Valley Interchange (Exit 358). According to the Turnpike Commission, they can then take US Route 1 South to State Route 133 East, then follow that until they reach US Route 13 North to re-enter the turnpike. Vehicles entering the turnpike at the Delaware Valley Interchange can travel eastbound.
The Turnpike Commission expects the cleanup to be done by 1 p.m.
