Arrests Made in Thanksgiving Day Homicide
Police have arrested two men they say are responsible for the Thanksgiving Day homicide of a 21-year-old man in Port Richmond.
David Ramos, Jr., 18, has been charged with murder, robbery and related offenses in reference to the shooting death of Ryan Kelly. Keanan Glenn has been charged with murder, robbery, and related offenses in the same incident. Both are being held without bail, according to court records.
A press release from the Philadelphia Police Department said Ramos was arrested Jan. 16 in the 4500 block of Frankford Avenue; Glenn was arrested Friday in New Castle, Delaware, then transported on Tuesday to Philadelphia to face charges.
Investigators had previously said that Kelly was shot and killed around 5 a.m. Thanksgiving in the 3500 block of Almond Street. Police said Kelly was walking home from Wawa when the two men pulled up in a stolen white Mazda 626.
“I don’t know if this was an attempted robbery or not, but at this point it seems that he was approached and shot by these males,” Lt. John Stanford told 6ABC at the time.
Police had offered a $20,000 reward in the case. They said today it was “still in the works” to determine if anybody will be able to claim it.
