Hernandez, if you don’t know, is the former Patriots tight end who this week was convicted of killing a former friend and sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole. The questions of his future — not to mention NFL career — have been pretty definitively resolved.
Only: Take a second glance at the tweet.
It’s two years old! But people are retweeting it today like it’s new — and making McNabb, the former Eagles quarterback, look pretty silly in the process.
He’s trying to have a sense of humor about it.
Check out the responses to that tweet, though, and you realize. People aren’t picking on Donovan McNabb for (not really) sending out a silly tweet this week. They’re picking on him for being Donovan McNabb. And that is probably how it will always be, in Philadelphia at least.
