Detectives with the Philadelphia Police Department confirm that two teens are in custody for last Thursday night’s shooting death of Jim Stuhlman, a 51-year-old father gunned down while he was walking his dog near his home on Woodcrest Avenue in Overbrook.

A third male believed to be the actual shooter is expected to be arrested soon.

Stuhlman was shot once in the chest at approximately 9:00 p.m. last Thursday and died soon thereafter. When he was found on the ground, his dog was still next to him. Stuhlman had his dog’s leash in one hand and a flashlight in the other. The attackers did not take his money or jewelry, and police believe this was a robbery attempt gone wrong.

Surveillance video from nearby showed three young black males wearing hoodies and backpacks. The video led police to the two teens.
