WATCH: La Salle Beats Buzzer with Half-Court Prayer
The Explorers had nearly completed a rally from a 20-point deficit, but there was just four seconds left and the Explorers were down three. They’d need a miracle shot.
They got one. La Salle’s Jordan Price swished one from half court to send the Explorers’ game against American University into overtime last night. Price, who scored 26 to lead La Salle, fired it over two American players to knot the game at 59.
Now, let’s judge Price’s celebration.
Pretty good, huh? A genuine fist-pump when the shot goes through, then a “holy-crap-look-what-I-just-did” pose afterward. You have to understand: Celebrating after game-tying buzzer beaters is hard. Because you have to get ready to play another five (or more!) minutes of basketball, and you just went through all that effort to tie the game. (I know this because I once hit a buzzer beater in a dream.)
Pretty good celebration from Price here. I give this a 9 out of 10.
Unfortunately, La Salle lost in overtime.
