Subaru to Move U.S. Headquarters to Camden
Subaru is close to moving its American headquarters to New Jersey. KYW 1060 reports a deal will be announced next week that gives Subaru 10 years of tax incentives to move to Camden.
The state’s Economic Development Authority would have to approve the deal next week. As many as 500 jobs would move to Camden as part of the deal.
Subaru of America is currently headquartered in Cherry Hill, with an additional 200 employees in Pennsauken, New Jersey. The company is looking to consolidate operations.
The Subaru deal would be just the latest tax deal made in an attempt to improve Camden’s fortunes. The Philadelphia 76ers received tax credits to build a practice facility on the Camden waterfront.
Lockheed Martin got $107 million to move operations to Camden. Holtec International got $260 million in tax credits to build a new manufacturing facility in the city.
