Taney Dragons Dominate Little League World Series Opener
The Taney Dragons opened the first Little League World Series appearance by a Philadelphia team with a bang. Jared Sprague-Lott hit a three run homer in the first inning, and Mo’Ne Davis dominated on the mound the rest of the way in the Dragons’ 4-0 win over South Nashville.
Davis pitched her second straight complete game, allowing just two hits. She struck out eight batters in her six innings of work and rarely appeared to struggle against any hitter. She struck out the side in the final inning.

The team, now wearing Mid-Atlantic jerseys, jumped out to the 3-0 lead on the Sprague-Lott blast in the first.
That was all Davis needed, but Taney tacked on another run on a sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth.
The Taney Dragons play again on Sunday at 7 p.m.
