WEEKEND ROUNDUP: Lots of Gay Ways to Celebrate the First Weekend of Spring
On Sunday, Charlie Salon will show some love to Quince Productions, host of GayFest!, Philly’s only LGBT theater festival, at SundayFest.
The salon has been a longtime sponsor of Quince, and will be raising money to benefit not only this fall’s GayFest! (slated for August 5th through 23rd), but two upcoming productions, Three Days of Rain, and “Full House: A Series of Cabarets.” They’ll be gathering funds at SundayFest through a raffle that includes everything from a 2014-15 subscription to The Wilma Theater and a $100 gift certificate to Starr Restaurants to a sexy-sounding private tour at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
If the raffles are not enough to convince you, Charlie Salon will be offering free admission, free hors d’oeuvres and snacks from local hotspots like Kanella and Cake & the Beanstalk, and (best of all) free wine. To top it off, every guest will receive a card for a 20-percent discount on his/her first styling at the salon. Sunday is usually the day for rest and recovery, but this Sunday it is the day for raffles and free goodies. Sun., March 23, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., free, Charlie Salon, 203 South 12th Street.
