Philly’s First Homicides of 2014
Firefighters responding to a house blaze found two people shot dead.
After a heartening year with the fewest homicides since 1967, Philadelphia police announced the first victims of 2014 this morning.
After putting out a blaze late last night at 4257 Ormond Street in Juniata Park — since ruled an arson — firefighters found the bodies of a man and a woman in their 30s, both of whom had been shot in the head. The victims’ names have not been released. [Inquirer]
